For me, the therapeutic process consists of three primary elements: First is the immediate sense of relief which comes from unburdening our problems and identifying our hopes to a compassionate, reflective professional. Another involves developing skills, through practice, around realizing our intentions, needs, and wants. Lastly, these culminate in utilizing the therapeutic relationship to work through deeper, more core internal barriers to change.

Experience
Dr. Christensen works with developmental and family-of-origin traumas including abuse (physical, sexual, and emotional) and chemical health concerns (abuse/dependence), which can create ruptures separating a person from themselves and others. Successful resolution of his work with people involves relief from anxiety, depression, and despair, and the installation of resilience for handling present and future issues through reconnecting with one’s Authentic Self.
