Traditional psychotherapy helps us to discover the roots of our anxiety and use cognitive strategies to intervene during anxious times. But what happens when the body doesn’t feel calm as a result? When there is a disconnect between mind and body? Yoga can offer a unique pathway that works with the physical system of anxiety and increases the communication between mind and body – connecting these two systems and helping us to feel more balanced, calm and centered. In this series, you will better understand why and when yoga can be used as an effective complement to the treatment of anxiety. The groups will clarify the relationship between body and brain and offer yoga poses to reduce symptoms. Ultimately, we strive to demystify how and why yoga works and build skills to allow for greater empowerment in navigating tough emotional challenges.
